This weekend is your LAST CHANCE to vote the Shenmue soundtrack into the Classic FM Hall of Fame. If you haven’t yet cast your vote, just follow our easy step-by-step guide.
Due to the long term significance of this opportunity, we’ve been trying not to oversaturate your feeds with numerous other polls that have been taking place lately. The last thing we want to do is create voter fatigue by ramming multiple polls down your throats (okay, perhaps we could reword that).
But if you’ve already voted in the Hall of Fame poll and you’re hungry for more chances to raise Shenmue’s profile, here are two more links that may interest you:
Shenmue fan Rosalie Newcombe is rocking the Ryo Hazuki look in her quest to win a contest held by Insert Coin Clothing, designers of licensed video game apparel including numerous Shenmue items over the past few years. To help her win over strong competition from entrants representing Resident Evil and WipEout, all that’s needed is for you to “like” her picture on the Insert Coin Facebook page before the deadline of 9pm GMT on March 20th.
The other poll you may like to participate in can be found on the right-hand side of any page at SegaScream.com, asking you to vote on which Dreamcast game you’d most like to see re-released on modern consoles. Fans campaigning to #SaveShenmueHD are currently in the lead, and with your help they can stay there ahead of the previous frontrunner Jet Set Radio.
Thank you to everyone who’s been doing all they can to promote the Shenmue brand and boost its prestige in the eyes of fellow gamers. The eventual announcement of Shenmue 3 was not achieved by one single event but an aggregation of small victories by a fanbase who didn’t let up, and seized every opportunity to bring positive attention upon the franchise.
As we look towards the release of that long awaited sequel, the need to bring about Shenmue 1 & 2 HD and secure the success of 3 makes it as important as ever to band together and show our strength in numbers when these humble chances arise.
